Thomas

In this sermon on Thomas from The Dirty Dozen series, Pastor Wayne Surface explores what we can learn from one of Jesus’s disciples. Thomas is often remembered as “doubting Thomas,” but his story reveals much more. Through John 11, we see Thomas’s pessimism—he expected the worst—yet his willingness to follow Jesus even unto death. Pastor Surface shares how God cares for us deeply, even when He seems distant. We’re reminded that Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life,” and challenged to become “twins” of Christ—conformed to His image. The sermon also emphasizes the importance of church attendance, checking our spiritual baggage, and truly making Jesus our Lord and God. Key themes include God’s faithfulness, the call to live for Christ daily, and assurance of salvation through faith in Jesus.
