- Psalms 1-2
In this Wednesday evening study, we explore how Psalms 1 and 2 work together to present the complete gospel message. Psalm 1 calls us to delight in God’s law and meditate on it day and night, promising blessing and fruitfulness. Yet it also reveals a dilemma: we cannot fully keep the law and risk perishing with the ungodly. Psalm 2 resolves this tension by introducing God’s anointed Son—Jesus Christ—and calling us to kiss the Son and put our trust in Him. True blessedness comes not through moralism alone, but through a loving relationship with Christ, who rescues us from judgment and enables us to pursue God’s law from a heart of gratitude and devotion. Together, these psalms frame the entire first book of Psalms and invite us into the blessed life that flows from peace with God’s Son.
