Psalm 19:7-14

In this sermon on Psalm 19:7-14, we explore how Scripture declares God’s glory and character. The psalmist presents six names for God’s Word—the Law, Testimony, Statutes, Commandments, Fear of the Lord, and Judgments—each revealing different aspects of Scripture’s perfection. We examine eight descriptive words that describe Scripture (perfect, sure, right, pure, clean, true, righteous, and desirable) and six results of reading Scripture (converting the soul, making wise the simple, rejoicing the heart, enlightening the eyes, enduring forever, and providing great reward). The sermon concludes with practical application: how to recognize and overcome secret faults, presumptuous sins, and hidden errors through meditation on God’s Word.
