Passage
Ephesians 4:25-30

In this message from Ephesians 4, Dean Miller challenges believers to guard their hearts against giving Satan a foothold in their lives. Through a powerful story about a deacon’s property overrun by drug dealers, Pastor Miller illustrates how allowing dishonesty, anger, stealing, and corrupt communication opens the door to the enemy. He shows how these sins grieve the Holy Spirit and rob us of peace, joy, and spiritual power. The solution? Confess these things to God, receive His forgiveness and cleansing, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. When we surrender ourselves fully to God and put on the armor of God, we walk as conquerors in Christ’s victory.

And there's two things in this passage of scripture that I want to I want to call your attention to that I think should make every Christian every Christian should sit up and take notice about this and say, "Wait a minute. I don't want that to be in my life." Let me show you what the two things are. First of all, I want you to look at verse 27. Read that out loud with me. Verse 27. Ephesians chapter 4. Verse 27. You ready? Let's read it together. Neither give place to the devil. Neither give place to the devil. That's the first thing that ought to cause a Christian say, "Whoa, I do not want the devil to have a place in my life."

And then the second thing that ought to cause a Christian to sit up and take notice is chapter 4, verse 30. Look at the first part of this. and grieve not the Holy Spirit of God. Look right here. Listen. There's two things that Christians can do that we are warned not to do. Number one, do not give place to the devil and don't grieve the Holy Spirit. Now, I think I I want to help you to understand this. What I mean by this, when you got saved, Jesus Christ brought you into his life. And when he brought you into his life, his life is a life of victory. The Bible says in the book of Romans, "Nay, and all these things, we are more than say it out loud with me.

We are more than conquerors through him." Paul said in 1 Corinthians chap 2 Corinthians chapter 2, "Now thanks be unto God, which caused us always to triumph in Christ." Listen, when you got saved, God made you a winner. God made you a conqueror. God gave you a victory. You entered into the victory of Christ because you are in Christ and Christ is in you. And as a believer, you are walking in victory. But you have the opportunity. You have you have the freedom if you choose when the Holy Spirit lives in you. You have the you have the the right if you want to use it. You have the right to give place to the devil.

But the consequence of that is the devil will be in your life. He has a stronghold in your life and he quenches the Holy Spirit. Many years ago, I was a pastor in Mississippi. And I had a man in my church. It was a deacon. And uh this deacon called me one day and he said, "Pastor, have you ever been out to my house?" And I said, "No, I never have." He said, "I want you to come out to my house." And so I drove out there one Saturday and he had one of these little four-wheel things. It's a little side by side. And we got in it and we began to drive. And he had a beautiful house. And I said, "Man, this is beautiful."

And he said, "Yeah, it used to be." And I thought, "Man, he's kind of being negative about this." And we drove through the property and we drove up the fence line and we drove up in these trees and we saw all kinds of birds and we saw deer and we saw a little stream that was running through his property. I said, "Man, this is beautiful." He said, "Yeah, it used to be." And I thought, "Man, what's wrong with this guy? This is beautiful out here." We drove down the stream. We're kind of driving through the forest and driving down past the stream. And we get down to the bottom and as we're driving, I start noticing in the stream, I'm noticing trash, beer bottles, beer cans, big milk jugs, and and five gallon buckets and just trash in the stream.

And then before long, I'm seeing like old washing machines and an old refrigerator and just garbage everywhere. And there was by the time we got to the bottom of this little valley where the stream was running, the stream was having to run around all this stuff that had been thrown into it and it just trash everywhere. And he he turned the motor off and uh and he said, "Hey, be real quiet." I said, "Why?" He goes, "We don't want to get shot." I said, "What do you mean get shot?" He said, "Look over there between the in those bushes." And I looked across the little stream up on the hill and there was an old camper, like an old camper that was like falling apart.

It was like tuck duct tape like straps holding it together. And he said, "You see that camper?" He said, he said, "I don't want to get shot by the guy who lives in that camper." I said, "Then let's get out of here." So he didn't want to start the thing, so he made me push it. I pushed it for a ways when we got a little ways away. Then he started it back. He's jumping. We took off, went back to the house, and I said, "Okay, what is going on?" He said, "Pastor," he said, "Last year, I have a nephew who is addicted to drugs. He sells drugs. He takes drugs. He's a drug addict." And he said, "My nephew was getting out of jail."

and he called me from jail and he said, "Uncle Daryl," he said, "I'm getting out of jail in a couple weeks and my mom and dad will not let me come home. Nobody will let me come home. Nobody. Nobody. I have nowhere to go. I have nowhere to go." And he said, "I promise, Uncle Daryl, if you'll just give me," He said, "I've got a friend that said I could have a little camper, and if you'll let me put it on your property, I promise you that once I get out of jail, I'll get a job. I'll get my life together. and when I get my life together, I'll move and I'll find my own place if you just give me a chance.

And he said, Daryl said to me, he said, "Pastor, I knew I shouldn't have let him do it." I knew it, but I said, "Yes." He said, "He got out of jail and this friend got this old beat up pickup truck and they hooked up this old camper and they drugg it out here and they put it on my property. They stuck this old camper out there right in the middle of my property in the right down by the stream." And he puts this trailer out there and he said, "And before long," he said, "I'm in my house and I can hear way back in the woods, I can hear loud music and I can hear partying and I start hearing gunshots."

And he said, "And if you go on the other side of that trail," he said, "you'll see little trails going through all the woods where all these people that want to party and take drugs, they come through the woods and they come and buy drugs from him and he's selling drugs out there." And he said, "For the last year, he has ruined my life. There's no peace on this property." He said, "I'm always afraid he's going to break in my house. He's going to kill me. He's going to steal my stuff to go get more drugs." And he said, "I don't know what to do. I'll come back and finish that story in just a minute."

But I'm afraid that what's happened in many of our Christian lives is we've done the same thing. We've given place to the devil. How do we do that? Look at chapter 4. Look at Ephesians chapter 4. God has given you this wonderful life in Jesus Christ and then we give a place to the devil. How do we do that? Look at chapter 4. Look at verse number look at verse number 25. Well, look at verse 22. He says, he says, "Put off the former conversations." That's your old life, your old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lust and be renewed in the spirit of your mind that you put on the new man.

See, listen, young people, look, look, look, look. There was a time before you were saved. That was the old man. The old man was a man of sin. It was a man of the world. It was a man of the flesh. It was a man of corruption. Your old nature wants to sin. Your old nature wants to live in unrighteousness. Your old nature wants to look at pornography. Your old nature wants to live in wickedness and sin and filthiness. But listen, when you get saved, the Bible says God makes you a new creature. And you have to put off that old man. You have to you have to every day die to self. Not to be saved, but because you are saved.

I'm not going to live in the old man. I'm going to live in the new man. The victory that Christ has given me. I'm going to live in this. But listen, what what does the Bible say? If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new. So listen, Paul's saying right here, when you get saved, you become a new man. Now, you have to put off the old man and walk in the new man. And and here's what he says. Look at verse number 20. Look at verse number 24. and that you put on the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

So you have an old man that's corrupt and wicked and sinful. I have that old man. I have an old part of me, my old nature, my old flesh. It wants to sin. It wants to lust. It wants to do wicked things. It has a propensity to sin. It wants to draw away from God. But I have been saved and I have a new nature. And my new nature is created after God in righteousness. And I desire to read the Bible. My new nature wants to read the Bible. My old nature doesn't want to read the Bible. My new nature wants to pray. My old nature doesn't want to pray. My new nature wants to be a witness. My old nature doesn't want to be a witness.

My new nature wants to be faithful. My old nature doesn't want to be faithful. My new nature loves to go to church and be with God's people. My old nature hates to go to church and be with God's people. I'd rather be at home playing video games than to go to the youth conference. And that's the struggle that we have between the old man and the new man. And Paul said, "Here, listen. put that old man off and in your new man, in this new life in Christ, don't let Satan have a place. How do you do that? Look at verse 25. Wherefore put away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor if we are members one of another.

Let me tell you something. You know how you build a stronghold in your life for Satan? You know how you give Satan a place in your life? When you let dishonesty and lying live in your life. When you're not honest. When you lie to your mother. When you lie to your father. When you lie to your teacher, when you lie to your pastor, when you lie to yourself, when you live a hypocritical life, listen, a Christian is to walk in honesty. The first thing we're to put on is the belt of truth. Jesus is the way and the truth. The the the the word of God is the truth. The uh it's the word of truth. The Holy Spirit is called the spirit of truth.

We as Christians are to renounce the hidden things of dishonesty. And we are to walk in truth. We're to be honest with God, honest with ourselves, honest with one another. We're to speak the truth in love. Listen young people, we are people of the truth. But the Bible says in John chapter 10 that Satan is a liar and he's the father of it. He is a liar. So watch this. When we start allowing a lie, hypocrisy, dishonesty in our life, it creates an atmosphere where Satan feels at home and we invite him in. If there's anything in your life tonight that's dishonest, that's a place that Satan can camp out.

That's a place in your life that Satan feels at home. And so he said, "Don't give place to the devil." That will be a place given by lying. Watch the second thing. Look at verse number 26. Be ye angry and sin not. Neither let the si sun go down on your wrath. Listen, young people, look, anger is destructive. Somebody said, "Pastor, how can you be angry and not sin? There's only one way to be angry and not sin, and that's to be angry at sin." God has righteous anger. We don't have When we get angry, we lose our temper. When we get angry, we say things we shouldn't say. When we get angry, we do things we shouldn't do.

We say evil things to our mother. We the Bible says that wrath gives way to anger and anger gives way to clamor. We begin to yell at each other. Clamor gives way of evil speaking. We start saying hurtful things. You're you're stupid. We start insulting. We start name calling. We slam doors. We yell. We try to hurt people with our tongues. When we're angry, we destroy. The Bible says if you see an angry man, have no dealings with that man. Why? He's an angry man. Why is that a place for the devil? Cuz Satan is an angry creature. The Bible describes him as a fireb breathing dragon. He's angry at God.

He's angry because he was cast out. He's angry because God has doomed him to hell. He wants to be like God. He wants to be worshiped. He wants He wants position and he's proud. And because of his pride, Satan is angry. And by the way, when we become angry, we lose our temper. We we do things we ought not to do. It gives a place. What is the fruit of the spirit? The fruit of the spirit is love and joy and peace and longsuffering and gentleness, meekness, temperance, self-control, faith. The Bible says, listen, don't let anger live in your heart. Put away from you all bitterness and anger and malice.

Why? Those are things that give place to the devil. Not only that, watch this. So lying and anger, look at look at the next thing. Look at verse number 28. Let him that stole steal no more, but rather let him labor working with his own hands the things which is good that he may have to give to him that needeth. Listen, stealing is something that sa that we can do with our lives. That gives a place for Satan to have control in our life. Look, look, look, look, look, look, look, young people. The Bible says in John chapter 10, God calls Satan the thief. The thief has come to steal, to kill, and to destroy.

Satan will rob you of your purity. He will rob you of your innocence. He will rob you of your future. He will rob you of your of God's plan and purpose for your life. Satan is a thief. He just he takes. He's a taker, not a giver. And God said, "Listen, that has no place in your life." Young people, look, you need to be honest with your life. You need to be clean with your life. Look, you cannot take things that don't belong to you. I've driven around the island here and I've I've parked in a few places and it'll say something like this. Don't leave valuables in your car. You know why? Cuz somebody will break in and steal it.

I I at our church, we have surveillance cameras and we have we have we have alarms. You know why? Cuz people will break into our church and steal stuff. Not long ago, we had some thieves come in and broke the front door of our church. went in and stole some of our sound equipment and took stuff out of our church. You know, they're thieves. They take something that's not theirs. Listen, you know, as believers, if you're not careful, you'll you'll you'll you'll find yourself taking things that don't belong to you. You might earn some money and not give what you ought to give to the Lord. The Bible calls that stealing.

Will a man rob God? So, young people, listen. A Christian ought not to ever be a person that is dishonest and take things that don't belong to them. That's what Satan does. He's a thief. And when we live that way, we give a place to the devil. Watch this very quickly. I'm going somewhere, so stay with me. Look at verse 29. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers. Listen, look. You know what gives a place of the devil in our life? When we let corrupt communication come out of our mouth. What does that mean?

I'm talking about filthy talking. I'm talking about cursing. I'm talking about using vulgarity. I'm talking about gossip. I'm talking about slander. You know what Satan is? Satan is a slanderer. He's one that will say something not true about other people. He will cut people. He divides people. He devours people. He's like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He's a slithering serpent speaking lies and sowing discord among people. Listen, if if Satan were in the youth group, he would be the gossip in the youth group. He would accuse other people of things that he would get people to think suspiciously about each other.

He would use unclean language. He would talk about things that are not decent and things that are not clean. Listen, we live in a world today, look, people do not care about cussing anymore. People just use filthiness all the time. You can't do three scrolls on social media without seeing vulgarity posted. It's everywhere. It's in every movie. It's in every TV show. It's in all the music. It's in the culture. You can't go to You can't go to Walmart without hearing people use filthy language. But can I tell you something? That ought not to be the way it is for the Christian. The Bible says out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.

What what comes out of your mouth is what's down in your heart. If unclean things are coming out of your mouth, what's in your heart? Unclean things. And who enjoys unclean things? That's a place for the devil. Watch this very quickly. Look at verse number look at verse number 30. Verse number 30 says, "And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God." Now, I told you two things that ought to cause a Christian to sit up and take notice. Number one is giving place of the devil. Number two is grieving the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives in you and he's grieved. Daryl said to me that day, he said, "I don't know what to do about this."

I said, "Come on, get in my car." So, we got in my car and we drove down to the county seat in Mississippi. It was a little town called Pervvis. And the sheriff of that county, his name was Danny Wrangle. And Danny Wrangle and the sheriff and I, we were good friends. And I walked into the sheriff's office and he said, "Hey, pastor. How you doing?" I said, "Good to see you, sheriff. I said, 'I want you to meet this guy. This is Daryl. I said, ' Daryl lives down here off of Brownsbridge Road. He lives in the big curve in that beautiful little house with the white dormers. And Danny said, 'Oh, I know your house.

I love that place. That's a beautiful place. I said, "Well, that's what we're here to talk to you about. It used to be a beautiful place, but it's not anymore." He said, "What's going on?" I said, "Darl, tell him." Daryl put his head down. He said, "I've got a nephew that was a drug dealer, drug addict. He was getting out of jail." He said, "What's your nephew's name?" He told him. And the sheriff's like, "Ooh, I know him. I arrested him. That's a bad mama jamba." And he said, "Um," he said, "Where is he now?" And he said, "Well, that's what I want to tell you." He asked me if he could bring a trailer and put it on my property.

And I let him. And he said, "And now he's selling drugs out of that camper. He's having wild parties and shooting guns." And he said, "I'm just afraid of my life. I'm afraid that someone's going to come into my house and steal and in the middle of the night kill me and steal all my stuff. I'm I'm afraid. I I have no peace at my house." And the sheriff stood up behind the desk and he said, "Well, Darl," he said, "Uh, did you sign a contract with him?" He said, "No." He said, "Did you make any legal commitments to him of how long he could stay?" He said, "No." He said, "Uh," he said, "Darl, did you let him have that property?"

He said, "No." "Is it his?" He said, "No." "Who does that property belong to?" He said, "It belongs to me." He said, "Do you have a title for that property?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Okay, let's go." He said, "Where are we going?" He said, "Come on, follow me." So, I got in my car. Daryl got in my car. We got behind the sheriff and the sheriff had this big old SUV and we drove to Daryl's house and when we got to the house we were in the driveway. The sheriff got out of the car and came back and he said, "Darl, you stay here." He said, "Pastor, you get in my in my vehicle." I said, "What am I going to do?"

He said, "You're going with me." I'm like, "And where are we going?" He said, "We're going to talk to that guy." I'm like, "What do you mean we're going to talk to that guy?" So, I get in the heriff's vehicle. He drives through the woods, man. He's going over trees. He's He flies through the river, that little creek. He flies up on the other side. When we get back there, the sheriff has a shotgun in the middle of his of his of his dash. He reaches over and he grabs a shotgun. He jacks a shell in it. He hands it to me. He goes, "Get out." I get out. I'm like, "What am I going to do?" He said, "You cover me."

The sheriff walks over to this camper. It was like a movie, man. It was You could hear the music like D. He's walking over to this camper. Sheriff's got his sunglasses on. He walks up to that camper. He grabs the door. This is true story. The c he did not open the door of that camper. That camper was so old and dilapitated when he pulled that door. He pulled the entire door off the camper. Sheriff Danny goes throws the door. He goes into the camper. I'm holding a shotgun like we're going to die. He goes in the camper. All of a sudden, you just see the camper go. But I'm like, he's going to die.

This dude's going to kill the sheriff. Then he's coming out and I got to shoot the drug dude. All of a sudden, man, in the door, I see Danny. I see Sheriff Danny. He stands there. He takes his glasses off. He's comes down the slow motion like he's dragging the shirtless dude out the back. He drags him down the steps of the camper. He's dragging him across the field. I'm looking at Sheriff and I'm like, "This is a bad dude." And I I start looking at this guy who I was like picturing to be this big monster. And he's this skinny. His ribs are showing. His eyes are sunken in. His teeth are all rotted.

He's ding drugged over. The sheriff walks him over, opens the back of the truck, throws him up in the back seat, and he says, "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you do or say will be held against you in the court of law." He reads him his rights, slams the door, and I'm like, "Yeah, this is what we did right here. This is me. I'm He's like, "Give me the gun." He took him to jail. We got a bunch of men from our church. We brought pickup trucks and big dump trailers and we came out to that property and we started cleaning. We cleaned up all that trash. We took loads and loads of stuff to the dump.

About a year later, Daryl was at church one day. He was one of my deacons. And he was after church. She came to me and said, "Hey, pastor, have you ever been out to my property?" And I said, "One time, it wasn't a great experience." He said, "I want you to come back. I think you're going to find it's beautiful. I went out to his property. He got me in that little side by side and we drove and he goes, "Look at these beautiful trees. Aren't these beautiful?" I said, "Yeah." He said, "Look at this beautiful river." He said, "There's deer out here. There's beautiful. There's beautiful wildlife out here.

Isn't this little stream beautiful? He said, "We catch fish out of this." Now, we drove all through there and he said, "Man, isn't this peaceful? This is so beautiful." Let me tell you something. Young people, look. When Joey moved in, he had a place. It grieved Daryl. The Holy Spirit lives in you. He abides in you. When you let the things of this world and you let Satan have a place, let me tell you what he does. He brings all of the uncleanness with him. And you make the Holy Spirit have to live in this temple with him. And it grieves the Holy Spirit. You know what you lose? You lose your peace.

You lose your joy. You lose your love. You lose the gentleness and the kindness and the longsuffering. You lose all the peace of God because you've given a place to the devil and you've grieved the Holy Spirit. So what do we do? We do exactly what we did with Joey. We go to God and we go to God and we say, "God, I have given a place to the devil and he's built a stronghold there and he's brought all the uncleanness and all this filth and all this trash. God, I I I was I I I had un I I I spoke lies. I had untruth in my life or or I I had a I had an angry spirit or I let corrupt communication. I was gossiping.

I was saying things I ought not to say. I was I allowed some things in my life that brought Satan and gave him a place. And now with that, there's all kinds of things and my life is grieved and there's no peace in my heart. There's no joy in my heart. There's no spiritual power in my life. And God, I want to get this right. And we confess that. We admit it. We confess it. And let me tell you something, young people. Satan has no authority. Sin has no authority in your life. Your life doesn't belong to you. belongs to Jesus Christ. The only way that it can dwell in you is if you give that place.

And when you bring this to God and you confess it to God, let me tell you what he does through his authority. He comes and he says, "Hey, you have no title deed here. This life belongs to me. I paid for this life. I have the title to this life. I shed my blood for this life. I've put my Holy Spirit here. You have no right to this life." And listen, God gives victory. You clean up. God gives you the power to get all that stuff out. And young people, you know what comes back? The peace, the love, the joy. And here's what you need to do when you confess that, you give it to God, and you get some things right with the Lord.

Watch what happens. Look at chapter 5 and look at verse 18. He says, "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the spirit, speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." Young people, listen, listen to me. When you can when you confess that stuff, you've got some things in your life that don't belong there. God, this is not what Jesus died for. This is not what I've been saved for. This is the things that I've allowed to come in.

When you confess it and you get it right, let me tell you what God does. God forgives it. God cleanses it. And then when that stuff is out, now you say, "Now, Lord, fill me with your spirit. I don't want to grieve the Holy Spirit. I want to be filled with the spirit. I want to be controlled by the spirit. I want the spirit of God to have all of me." And when he fills your life, listen, when he fills your life, the Holy Spirit is in control. Guess what happens now in my life? Instead of uncleanness and anger and wrath, now I'm giving thanks and I'm worshiping and my life becomes a life of worship to the Lord in my heart.

It becomes a life of gratitude. It becomes a life of peace. It becomes a life of joy. It becomes a life of holiness. It becomes a life of power. And God uses you. Young people, listen to me. What are you filling your life with? God has given you a great salvation. God has purchased you. God has given you this life. Don't give place to the devil. Let the spirit of God fill you. I wished I could say that I do this every day, but I try to do it every day. I don't always do it, but I try to do it. But in the mornings, I get up and I have my time with the Lord. I read my Bible. I spend time with God.

and I go to my prayer time and I pray and here's what I do. I say, "Lord, here's the things in my life I want to confess today. These are things that I've allowed. Yesterday, I I said something that I shouldn't have said. Yesterday, I I I did some things I shouldn't have done. God, I'm sorry. I confess that. Forgive me." And what does the Bible say, young people? If we confess our sin, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. And I and I ask the Lord to forgive me. I ask the Holy Spirit and I search me and try me. See if there's anything in me, Lord. And I wait on the Lord and I if God brings something to my mind, I confess it.

I ask the Lord to forgive it. And here's what I do. Then I do this. I say, "Now Lord, I'm presenting my life a living sacrifice to you. Lord, my body belongs to you. These eyes, I give them to you today. They I want them to be your eyes. I want you to see what you see. I want to see how you see. I want to see other people the way you see people. I want to look at things the way you look at things. Lord, protect my eyes. Keep my eyes from evil things. Lord, I will set no wicked thing before my eyes. I want my eyes to be your eyes today. Lord, I give you my ears. I want to hear the way you hear today.

God, I want my ears to be your ears. Help me to hear the the cry of someone's heart today. Help me to hear the needs of other people today. Lord, I don't want unclean things in my ears. I want my ears to hear the way you hear. Lord, I give you my tongue today. Lord, I pray that my tongue would not bite and devour and curse and swear and backbite and and and accuse and gossip. Lord, let my tongue speak life. Let my tongue be ruled by the law of kindness. Let my tongue be quick to share the gospel. Let my tongue be quick to praise. Let my tongue be quick to pray. Let my tongue be quick to encourage.

Let my tongue speak truth. Oh God, I give you my tongue today. God, I give you my heart today. Lord, I want to love the things that you love. I want my affection set on things above and not on things on earth. Lord, don't let the Don't let my heart be set on evil things. Let me love the way you love. Let me love how Jesus loves. God, love through my heart. I give you my heart today, Lord. I give you my hands today, Lord. Don't let my hands take from others. Let my hands be hands that give. Let my hands be hands that help. Let my hands be hands that protect. Lord, let my hands reach out to others to bring them to Christ.

Let my hands be used of God today. Lord, these are your hands today. They're not my hands. Lord, I give you my feet. I want to walk the way you walk. Lord, I want to go where you lead me. I want you to order my steps. I want my feet to carry the gospel. Now, listen. I pray through my whole body and I give myself to the Lord. And then I say this when I've when I've prayed that. Then I say this now Lord. I've given all of this to you. Now Lord, I want the Holy Spirit to fill me, control me. I want the Holy Spirit to dwell in me today richly. And then I say this now. Lord, I want to protect that. So I put on the belt of truth.

Lord, I guard my heart with the breastplate of righteousness. I want to put on the helmet of salvation to guard my mind so that it'll think your thoughts and it'll it will remember your word and that Lord my mind will not be anxious and worried and have unclean thoughts but it'll be a mind that is pure. So I put the helmet of salvation. Lord I put the feet of the gospel of peace. Lord I take the shield of faith. I want to walk behind you. Walk with you. And then Lord, I take the sword of the spirit so I can do warfare, quench the fiery darts of the wicked one. And Lord, I can do warfare for you and win victories for you.

That Lord, to you would be the glory. Listen, when I get up in the mornings, the days that I pray and I've surren surrendered myself and ask for the filling of the Holy Spirit and the armor of God, I'm walking in victory as a conqueror. Oh, listen. There's no place for Satan in that. What's in my heart is the love and the peace and the joy and the fullness and the power of God. Let me ask you a question. Is there anything in your life that you've brought in that ought not to be there? Is your life filled with other things other than the Holy Spirit? Are you filled with fear? Are you filled with uncleanness?

Are you filled with anxiety? Are you filled with worry? Are you filled with self? Oh, listen. Confess it. Let God remove that and cleanse that. And then be filled with the spirit of God. Let God use you. In this room tonight are some of the greatest warriors that God could use. If you would not give place to the devil and you would be filled with the spirit, God will use you tonight.
