Broken: Samuel

In this sermon from the Broken series, Wayne Surface examines the life of the prophet Samuel through 1 Samuel 4:19-22 and related passages. Samuel stands out in God’s Hall of Fame as a man of integrity, prayer, and servanthood—yet his life also reveals a painful weakness: he failed as a father. This message explores what made Samuel great in God’s eyes, the characteristics of true integrity, and a challenging reminder that spiritual success in ministry cannot compensate for neglecting our families. We’re called to walk in God’s truth, separate ourselves from worldliness, maintain God at the center of our lives, and most importantly, invest intentionally in discipling our children in the faith.
